FAQs
What is Physiological Insulin Resensitization?
Physiologic Insulin Resensitization is an innovative, multi-patented approach where insulin is administered as a hormone rather than a drug, addressing the primary cause of diabetes, being metabolic failure. By using insulin in a manner that biomimics normal physiology, we are better able to reduce insulin resistance, which helps blood sugar more readily enter each cell and be converted into energy.
Increasing cellular energy allows damaged tissues and organ cells to grow, repair and regenerate. In many cases, this approach has shown the ability to stabilize — and in some cases revers — complications of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
Is PIR safe?
Yes. Physiologic Insulin Resensitization is a physician-directed treatment that uses FDA-approved insulin in a carefully controlled, biologically mimicking way. The protocol is supported by peer-reviewed studies, has multiple patents, and has been used in more than 300,000 infusions worldwide.
Because PIR is administered under medical supervision with a personalized plan, safety is a top priority at every step.

Who is a good candidate for PIR?
PIR may be a good fit for adults living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, neuropathy or other metabolic conditions who want to address the root cause — insulin resistance.
The best way to find out if you qualify is to schedule a free consultation. We’ll review your medical history, evaluate your current health and determine whether this therapy is appropriate for you.
What does a typical treatment plan look like?
Every patient’s level of insulin resistance and ability to metabolize carbohydrates is different. That’s why we begin with a consultation to determine medical necessity and establish a physician-directed, individualized care plan.
Most plans include:
-
An Induction Phase with weekly infusions for approximately 90 days. This frequency may be reduced as improvement occurs.
-
A Maintenance Phase that balances optimizing metabolism with increasing time between treatments.
Initial visits typically last 1–3 hours. Patients are free to move around, read, work or watch TV during the infusion. Over time, visits become shorter and less frequent—a 2-hour visit every 4–6 weeks is common.

What’s the first step?
Schedule a free consultation. We’ll review your medical history to determine medical necessity and whether you qualify for treatment. Call us at 561-368-4278 to schedule your free consultation.
What should I expect from the consultation?
Consultations typically last 30–60 minutes. If your most recent blood work is not current, you may be asked to come prepared for lab testing.
During your visit, you’ll meet with a qualified medical staff member who will review your records, medical history and physical condition. We’ll explain our approach, answer any questions you have, and — if you qualify — create your personalized care plan.

Will you work with my doctor?
Yes, we will work with and communicate with your doctor. We will not replace your doctor. We do not require a referral or approval from your doctor, and we work with your doctor to co-manage your individualized care plan including treatment, testing and clinical results.
While most doctors use insulin as a drug, our approach uses insulin as a hormone. We’re happy to provide information you can share with your physician, and we’re available to consult with your doctor if needed.
Do you take my insurance?
We currently work with Medicare with United America and can navigate other insurance programs as an out-of-network provider. Cash-pay options are also available.
